【INNER】A Letter from 39-Year-Old to 29-Year-Old
Chinese subtitle
Hey human,
Are you still alive? Are you still pursuing your inspiration, or have you found it? Are you still enjoying nature, or are you occupied by the tediousness of life?
I would like to remind you that these few things will never exist on your Earth, so you can be carefree:
(a) There is no right or wrong; nothing is absolute, and the truth lies within your own heart;
(b) There is no final destination even after death, so you don't need to rush through life searching for it. Simply enjoy the process—eat when you need to, drink when you need to, play when you need to, and rest when you need to;
(c) It may not be about "I should," but rather about "I want" and "I need.".
I can't think of anything specific to teach you because I've only lived ten years longer than you. Perhaps, in another ten years, I'll be able to offer some advice based on my additional experiences.
This letter was written in December, two weeks before Christmas. Have you learned something new there? I'm not sure if I have, but that's okay because I'm still healthy and feel loved.
Don't forget to thank your partner. I'm referring to the people, scenes, and life experiences that have supported you until today. You've overcome various challenges by taking on different life roles, so don't feel pressured to stick to just one role or see things from a single perspective.
Life will help you carry the burdens that aren't yours to bear. Take a look at point (b) of caring for yourself—eat, drink, play, and rest.
Enjoy the wind of life, 讓它輕輕地,也用力地打在妳的臉上;輕輕地呼吸,並也用力地生命。
( Let it gently, and with force, strike upon your face; breathe gently, and also with the force of life. )
