"Can we incorporate 'humour' into the counselling process?" This was the first question I asked myself. Continuing the internal dialogue, I pondered, "I'm not sure. Won't clients perceive it as disrespectful? They are already in pain, and now we want to introduce dark humour or white lies. What if some sensitive clients find it easily offensive? In such a serious and formal counselling room, I can't use humour."

"Humour" seemed like a ticking time bomb, misusing it could lead to an explosion. However, through this class, I began to see the possibility of using humour to playfully explain the complexity of life, thoughts, and emotions to clients, potentially achieving the effect of validation feeling.

Recognising my deficiency in using humour in the counselling process through this class, I realised that I might need comic strips to assist me in concretising clients' dilemmas. Using this approach in a lighthearted manner, I could convey a message to clients "Thank you for navigating your life uniquely and humorously." Alternatively, I could encourage clients to adopt a "humorous" perspective on their experiences, providing them with new insights. But still, I hope it won't sound sarcastic (Ouch).
